Controls and Stealth

Play Cats Morphs: Friend Rescue plays like a stealth scavenger hunt, not a fighter. The controls are standard Roblox. The skill is camera height, when you sprint, and which colored key you grab before you walk up to a door. This page is the mechanical half of the Tools Hub. Pair it with Getting Started on a new account and with Floor 1 once you leave the lobby cages.

Servers are 10-player online. There is no split-screen. Your camera is yours; other players can still body-block a doorway or pull a hall monitor into your lane.

PC and mobile controls

PC: WASD moves. Mouse aims the camera. Space jumps. Catnip is the in-game sprint that matters. Use the morph menu to swap cats. Interact with cages, keys, buttons, and yarn by walking into them.

Mobile / tablet: Left thumbstick moves. Jump is the on-screen button. Drag the right side of the screen to turn the camera. Morph swap uses the same menu. Follow the experience from the Roblox app’s three-dot menu so Friday drops appear.

Camera: tilt up for shelf cages; tilt down at the cafeteria scratching post (Sapphire’s false wall is at the base); strafe while looking, because hall monitors own corridor centers. After detention, turn the camera before you hold W into the same patrol.

If a jump feels impossible, check Spring Shoes on Shop Gear. Floor 1 knight jumps and Floor 3 lily pads are tuned for a normal jump plus a clean camera. Shoes are A-tier convenience, not a hidden control.

Camera, morph swap, detention

Rescue is not the end of the input. Open the morph menu and swap. Wearing the cat you just saved confirms the badge. Swap to Teacher’s Pet the moment you own one. Lobby S-tier morphs (Oreo, Tex, Lucky, Luna) are collection checks, not stealth suits.

Detention recovery: a hall monitor or purrfessor sends you to the Floor 1 lobby. Morphs stay. Re-grab keys if the run reset them. If Floor 2 or Floor 3 was already unlocked, use the in-game floor teleporter (left-side menu in community reports) instead of replaying Floor 1. Mid-obby (Sapphire, knights, Floor 3 buttons) resets; that is expected. Do not buy the Busted Teleport Remote because you fell once.

Detention is a reset, not a wipe. A bad Catnip sprint that dumps you in the lobby is faster than wandering Floor 3 lost. Friends on the same 10-player server can stand as a visual ping. They cannot carry you.

Key and door routing

Each floor has red, green, and blue keys and matching doors. Location videos timestamp them in that spirit: Floor 1 red, Floor 1 green, Floor 1 blue, then the same three colors on Floor 2 and Floor 3. Do not mix floors. A Floor 1 blue key does not open a Floor 3 blue door.

Routing rules: grab the key that matches the next door on your cluster, not the first key you see. Floor 1 keys support knights and themed rooms; clear lobby cages first so detention is cheap. Floor 2 keys sit behind lily pads; falling off a pad is worse than walking. Floor 3 keys sit near gym space and limited portals (Pisces used a Floor 3 portal, not a Floor 1 key). Buttons and yarn balls sometimes replace a key; official Floor 3 unlock footage uses yarn on a door and a button.

Wrong color? Backtrack to that floor’s timestamped key. Do not circle the door. Paint, eggs, and holiday candy boxes are pickups on other tracks. Do not farm 60 candy boxes while a green door stays shut.

Stealth versus Catnip sprint

Stealth-walk when:

  • You can see a hall monitor or purrfessor in camera.
  • You are on a long cafeteria sight line.
  • You are approaching Sapphire’s wall, knight parkour, or a Floor 3 gym teacher.
  • You do not own Smelly Fish or Teacher’s Pet.

Catnip sprint when:

  • The corridor is clear.
  • You are farming scattered pickups (Valentine boxes across three floors).
  • You just knocked out the patrol with Smelly Fish.
  • You are returning from the Floor 1 lobby to a teleporter after detention.

Catnip is S-tier shop gear and the fastest way to donate a Floor 3 run to the lobby. Sprint in empty halls. Walk in furnished rooms; furniture hides patrols. Teacher’s Pet makes Catnip safer because staff ignore you. Until then, treat every sprint as a bet. Smelly Fish is insurance. Yarn is not stealth. The Busted Teleport Remote skips the hall and is D-tier for progression.

Practice the Floor 1 loop until you can leave spawn, grab a color key, open its door, and return without detention. Knights, secrets, and Friday portals reuse that loop.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Cat-School rescues, morphs, and Friday drops.

What are the PC controls?

WASD to move, mouse to look, jump to clear ledges, morph menu to swap cats. Catnip is the in-game sprint. Interact with cages and keys by walking into them.

How do I play on mobile?

Thumbstick to move, on-screen jump, drag to turn the camera, same morph menu. Follow the experience from the three-dot menu so Friday drops show up.

What happens after detention?

You respawn in the Floor 1 lobby. Morphs stay unlocked. Use the floor teleporter if Floor 2 or Floor 3 was already open, then re-grab keys if the run reset them.

Do keys work across floors?

No. Each floor has its own red, green, and blue keys and doors. A Floor 1 key will not open a Floor 3 door.

Should I always sprint with Catnip?

No. Sprint in empty halls and during pickup hunts. Walk when a monitor is on camera. Detention from a bad sprint costs the whole floor.

Do I need Spring Shoes to finish key rooms?

No. They help on knight parkour and lily pads. Learn jump timing first; buy shoes only if the same ledge keeps sending you down.
